Find a Permanent Flood Solution with Flood Prevention Systems

flood controlXpert Flood Control offers several products designed to provide a solution to flooding by preventing basement flooding, which is typically the result of sewage backing up. These Flood Control Systems involve the installation of a Flood Control Valve on the home owner’s existing sewer line. The Flood Control Valves are available in a variety of configurations so that you can find the flooding solution that works best for your home. Select a system featuring single-gate valves, backwater valves, check valves, balanced valves, or double gate valves. Valve-free systems are also available. Overhead sewers and lift stations are two other options that are used as flooding solutions.

However, these systems involve a greater degree of destruction to the interior of the home and generally cost twice as much as a flood control system. To flood proof your home using overhead sewers, a large construction effort will be needed and will often involve breaking floors and installing pumps inside the home. The other valve-free flood solution, Lift Stations, requires rerouting your home sewer to a flood control basin. All plumbing including toilets, sinks, drains, laundry and gutters are pumped up and over to the severed portion of your sewer, so that gray water and sewage cannot backtrack into your home causing flooding. The pump must run 24 hours a day, and is an invasive solution to flooding. Xpert Flood Control will install a Lift Stations solution in your Chicago home upon request, or when your home sewer is carrying more than 4″ of water.
Xpert Flood Control provides several flood solutions through their Flood Proof Home Services in Chicago. Although we advise customers contact the original installer of their current systems for warranty purposes, we realize that companies go out of business or unfortunately cease to service their products. If this happens to be the case, Xpert will be more than happy to evaluate your flooding solution and service it based on your specific needs for a flood proof home. Drain Tile Systems

drain tail seepage

This category of products is used to stop the infiltration of water into your home through wall cracks and floors, which is in most cases is caused by hydrostatic pressure. The severity of your problem and your objectives as a customer will be weighed, and Xpert will provide you with suggestions for achieving cost effective solutions for flooding.

Interior Drain Tile Systems

The Xpert Interior Drain Tile System is a product designed as a complete solution for flooding. It is installed along the interior perimeter of your home and accompanied by Xpert Sheet Drain. This combination allows for absolute protection against Hydrostatic pressure. All of the water around your foundation and under your floors is channeled into this drain tile system from above and below, relieving the Hydrostatic pressure around your foundation. The water then is transferred to a drain tile sump pump where it is either pumped to the city sewer or to an area outside your home, depending on local ordinances.

Exterior Drain Tile Systems

The Xpert Exterior Drain Tile System is generally installed for the same purpose as an interior drain tile system, yet is used when your foundation is made of lime stone or common brick. Water infiltration can begin to degrade the structural integrity of the brick. Xpert installs the drain tile outside and utilizes an asphalt base product called Frost Shield on the common brick or limestone, which stops further deterioration and water penetration of the existing foundation. All water is then channeled into the drain tile system and then transferred to a sump pump. The rate for exterior drain tile is typically much higher than interior drain tile due to the additional labor required for excavation. This flood solution should only be considered when there are no other options available.

Foundation Cracks and Grade Seepage

Sometimes complete drain tile systems are overkill and unnecessary and your problems are related to foundation cracks or grade seepage caused by specific landscaping issues. If there are foundation cracks they can be filled with Epoxy and landscaping techniques can be performed to reduce areas where infiltration generally occurs. No matter what is decided, Xpert Flood Control and Seepage will be there to provide the best solution to flooding available.
